Cuddlefish

This time next year, I'll have a beer belly and so will you. But hey, that's fine, you know I don't really mind, I'll still love you until we're through and a double decker bus crashes into us. You can call me Morrissey and you are the light that never goes out, yeah I see it in my dreams. It's not Gatsby's green light or a star in the sky it's more like the time we went to the aquarium and watched the cuttlefish glowing blue and green, the softest light I had ever seen, then back to blue. And I was standing next to you.

Slaughtering Sinatra

Well, someone propped open a fire-fucking-door, I can hear it all the way down the street over all the off-key karaoke singers at the five dragon Chinese restaurant in New Hampshire and over all the half-drunk conversations taking place outside. And nights like these I wish I smoked so I would have an excuse to sit outside and stare at stars or at the girls and boys climbing into waiting cars, and I wish I was in one of those cars or I wish I could stop wishing and start making plans.
Can someone please turn off that fucking alarm.

First World Problems

Ok, ok, next time I complain promptly slap me right in the face. Privilege has me stamping my feet, temper-tantrums over these commodity fetishes and I know I'm better than this. And art is hard, I can't play guitar, the demos not finished but at least we started
First world problems, yeah we've got them, and I'll stop complaining because that won't solve them.
And I'm tired, I'm tired, of being uninspired from living a life dictated by presentation and tagline. I'm tired, I'm tired, of being fucking tired because being tired is fucking boring.

And we pace around the apartment with trash and boxes. I'm cataloging every beer stain and every slashed window screen. I'm looking over our late night mural, I'm throwing all my clothes in a black trash bag. I know I won't get my deposit back so I'm taking every lightbulb as a souvenir, to show I was here and when I leave I'm taking the light with me.
